Unto the heights and for
forever
Memories mine made mist
Just scraps of ancient texts and
old songs played out
on the AM waves
I so rarely it seems remember my dreams
Still
Like clockwork, I wake
to the clicking of claws cold
Kept close around my throat
and screaming eyes
She told me once to try
magnesium
Sound alchemy I'm sure. And to breathe
I took a walk between the streetlights
Numbing the sky
and remembered how
A third of the stars fell from heaven
That magnesium burns hot as the sun
In the home behind me now
some echo once covered the ceiling in wallpaper
Fake flowers in their sky
Before another painted over twice in landlord white
Before I
had tried to once again hang the stars
Too heavy, turns out, for the layers to bear
And cracked the sky
A foggy breath
Caressing cold along my throat
and kisses my lips
Dreaming
Another nameless thing
